Welcome to In the Arena with NOW Podcast
In the Arena with NOW lifts up the voices of community leaders who are "in the arena", classrooms, playgrounds, Congressional halls, hospitals, and neighborhood streets -- to make sure that all children and families can live healthy, thriving lives. Each episode will delve into the experiences of local coalitions, residents, and experts who are working to create equitable systems of care and education. Learn more about the Podcast  here!

On April 25th, Vital Village Community Champion,  Josette Williams will lead the efforts of Countdow n to Kindergarten working with partners in the  community, education, childcare, and health care to distribute over 500pieces of information supportin g parents of children ages birth-5 in their roles  as their children's first teachers. There will also be a synchronized  happening all over the city where over 2000 kids will recite rhymes, songs, and poems. 11:00am-3:00pm  The Male Engagement Network (MEN Making Connections) will host its first ever  Wellness Summit,  entitled Brothers Building, at the Dewitt Center in Roxbury. The Male Engagement Network believes mental health and wellness should be addressed physically, mentally, emotionally, financially, and spirituality to  create opportunities to learn, network and build support systems that will lead to healthier neighborhoods. P artners for the summit include: Fathers Uplift, Nuestra Communidad, Codman Square Neighborhood Development Corporation, 365 Dad, Action for Boston Community Development, Vital Village Network, and Local Initiative Support Corporation Boston.

Looking for the perfect volunteer opportunity? Come to the only event of its kind in Boston. Free and open to the public, this special evening gives you a chance to learn about various charity groups and their volunteer opportunities. The Love Your Magic Conference is for Black and Brown girls to tell their stories, celebrate each other, and bask in their magic. Black and Brown girls are disproportionately punished in school, and part of the mission of this Conference is to disrupt that narrative. This conference will encourage empowerment among Black and Brown girls, and display their beauty while providing self-advocacy skills. Contact [email protected] for more information.

In honor of Earth Day there will be a celebration and showcase of the green initiatives happening in Dorchester with a block party in the Codman Square Park! BPD is looking for a Program Coordinator to support CEASE Boston. The Program Coordinator will work under the direction of BPD's Office of Research and Development (ORD). The ORD is responsible for the research and development of innovative strategies and police practice that focus on issues relevant to modern policing.

The Senior Marketing Manager will develop and implement marketing programs in specific channels to foster donor retention, broaden the potential donor base, and advance brand building and awareness of the Foundation, especially among potential donors and philanthropic partners.

It was created and shared as a part of this month being Child Abuse Prevention Month by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services' Children's Bureau, Office on Child Abuse and Neglect, its Child Welfare Information Gateway, and the FRIENDS National Center for Community-Based Child Abuse Prevention. The resources featured represent the work of a broad-based partnership of national organizations, Federal partners, and parents committed to strengthening families and communities.
